Angolan government launches international public tender for concession of the Caio Deep-Water Terminal, in Cabinda

por | Abr 10, 2026 | 0 Comentarios

Angolan government has launched an international public tender to award the concession for the Caio Deep-Water Terminal, located in Cabinda. The concession is expected to last around 20 years and will cover the management, operation, and maintenance of the terminal’s infrastructure.

The project is part of Angola’s broader strategy to modernise its port infrastructure and strengthen its logistics capacity. The Caio terminal is a major new facility, designed to handle both containerised and general cargo, with significant capacity and modern specifications.

Authorities emphasise that the tender aims to attract experienced international operators or consortia with strong technical and financial capabilities. The selection process will prioritise proposals that demonstrate operational efficiency, sustainability, and long-term development plans for the terminal.

The terminal’s strategic location on the Atlantic coast, close to neighbouring countries such as the Republic of Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, positions it as a potential regional logistics hub. It is also part of a wider plan to develop an integrated transport corridor, linking port, road, and air infrastructure.

Overall, the initiative is expected to boost economic activity in Cabinda, create jobs, and attract investment, while enhancing Angola’s role in regional and international trade networks.
